The Youth Climate Policy Council – Zanzibar is a platform for passionate young change-makers dedicated to influencing environmental policy, protecting our island ecosystems, and combating the urgent challenges of climate change. We are here to ensure youth voices are not just heard—they shape the future.

Why Zanzibar?
Zanzibar faces rising sea levels, coral reef degradation, and unpredictable weather patterns that threaten our coastlines, livelihoods, and biodiversity. But our greatest resource is our people—especially our youth. We are stepping up to protect our future.
What We Do
- Climate Policy Advocacy
We work with local leaders and national institutions to integrate youth-driven solutions into Zanzibar’s climate strategies.
- Green Skills & Education
Training programs in climate science, green entrepreneurship, sustainable farming, and renewable energy.
- Community Projects
Mangrove restoration, beach cleanups, plastic-free campaigns, and climate-smart agriculture initiatives.
- Youth Dialogues & Forums
Space for young people to share ideas, influence laws, and build networks with other East African and global youth leaders.
